The Photographer
Hey there, I'm Lucía, the founder of LVC Photography. LVC stands for La Vida Cruda, which means “The Raw Life” in Spanish, an ode to my Latina roots. At LVC I aim to capture the raw & real moments in a person's life through a photograph so that they can have something tangible to hold onto forever.

How it started
I've always had a passion for the arts & anything creative but never thought I could be an artist myself (insert imposter syndrome here). When I was a kid, one of my fondest memories was visiting the 1-hr photo center with my abuelita, I was always so eager to see how the photos turned out. Later on, it was a pretty big deal to me when my family lost interest in our first digital point-&-shoot camera. That was when I took the opportunity to photograph everything around me, especially our trips we would make to Mexico every summer. My teenage room had a wall that I fully covered with photographs & art prints & just about anything that my heart desired. As a first-generation college student, I took the opportunity to study abroad in Spain. For me this would be a once in a lifetime experience, so I made an investment & purchased my very first DSLR camera on my own. Buying that camera did give me some "good" images but not exactly what I wanted. I didn't just want to snap photos, I wanted to be a storytelling photographer. In 2013, I finally decided to dive head-first into pursuing my passion behind the camera after having my daughter. Most of what I know about photography today, I have learned through reading, video tutorials, practice, the endless desire to keep continue improving & getting out of my comfort zone. There is always something new to learn in this industry & I can't wait to see where I'll be two years from now.
"When I couldn't find the words to express myself, photography helped me find my voice."

Whether I am photographing couples in
love, expecting mothers, or growing families,
my goal is to always capture the raw emotions
of these moments - the joy, the excitement,
the jitters, the laughter - and authentically
interpret them through a photograph.
I don’t just sell pictures, we offer people an opportunity to express themselves & to be uniquely them, I capture people’s lives as they are experiencing it in real time, we give people something tangible so that they can look back and remember their life’s biggest moments.
At LVC, my purpose is to authentically interpret the big & small moments in people’s lives. I aim to capture the essence of who my clients are in real time & freeze it in a photo that they can look back & smile on.
